Process art with Bouncy Balloons
A great sensory activity for all ages. An open ended, creative and unique activity focusing on the process, or the doing rather than the outcome.
Use a bouncy balloon to stamp paint onto paper and watch it blend. It is an easy introduction to printmaking and colour wheels. All the supplies you need to recreate this process art are just around the corner!
Let’s get started
Materials
~poster paper (the bigger the better)
~balloons
~acrylic paints
~paper plates
Instructions
- Blow up balloons to a medium size.
- Secure paper on to a table or any flat surface with tape.
- Pour acrylic paints of your choice to a paper plate in circular patterns. Start in the middle and work your way around the plate.
- Make a print. Dip the balloon onto the paint and carefully transfer to the paper. Gently press and repeat.
Once you are done you can frame the paper or cut it into fun shapes and hang it in the kid’s room.
Let the kids experiment, make mistakes, test and try again.
Bouncy balloon paintings can be customised to look like flowers, or leave it as for stunning abstract art!
